This really isn't a con, because the program works fine. Maybe I'm biased, as I've used Afterburner for 10+ years it seems(don't remember when it came out).
I am DEFINITELY a Zotac fan now, and may switch to their products exclusively because of their pricing.Ĭons: The Zotac software included, Firestorm, seemed to not work as well for achieving stable overclocks compared to MSI Afterburner. The point is that this is the cheapest card offered at the level of performance available. Now I'm sure some of the other high end cards from asus, evga, or a few others managed to use some great coolers as well. As far as gaming, one older game i play, with settings maxed, it was running at around 35c WITHOUT THE FANS EVEN ON! FarCry 4, max graphics it was right at the threshold where the fans aren't even needed.
That's at 80%TDP of course, but it still achieves full speeds and isn't declocked(is around 2100mhz, with slight drops now and again) much at all at that TDP. This is the beefiest heatsink I've EVER seen on a graphics card! The temps I get on this thing are absolutely amazing! Full intensity mining, at +100core +796mem, it doesn't even go past 60c and hovers around 55c, and fans are only at about 60% to achieve this. Pros: I'll get right to the point, as I'm not much of a writer. Even if this card can take the heat it puts out with fan stop on I don't recommend it because it will raise the ambient temp in your case by a lot. This option is hidden in the app under the LED settings.ok? It is the small arrow looking control in the LED settings.
Turns out the only way to gain manual control of the fans is to turn off fan stop first.
The firestorm app doesn't give a lot of info on how to use it. Turns out the factory fan curves for this card let it get really hot.
At first I thought that the fans were not working. As my hand approached the card I could feel the heat from 8 inches away! This thing was HOT! I couldn't even touch the back plate for more than a second. I played Hunt: showdown first on this card and after playing for 15 minutes I reached in to feel the metal back plate of the card. Overall Review: So the cards configuration utility, firestorm, needs some work. I have been able to play every game I try at 4K with good frame rates. Pros: I bought this card to play games at 4K resolution. I have yet to deal with their warranty service center, as neither of my Zotac cards have given me any trouble at all.
By doing so, I am being entered in a drawing to win a free GPU or Magnus gaming system from Zotac! Their warranty seems pretty great, being as when you register the product, it activates a 5 year warranty. However, by leaving this review, I am "Participating in ZOTAC Experience”. Overall Review: This is a non-biased review. The cooler on this card is overkill, and Zotac won't let you push the card too far, unless you do your own hard modding, by shunting the resistor. Zotac has made improvements over their last top of the line Ti offering.Ĭons: WIll not let you go above 1.093v on the core, nor can you unlock voltage for the memory, in the spectra panel options. The card sags less than my 980ti did, so that's good. I'm one of those, "fans on 100% 24/7" types of people, but it's nice for those wanting to keep noise down. You can even set custom fan profiles to set a certain RPM based on temperatures. Zotac has done a great job of updating their software. You can do breathing, cycle or static effects. The Firestorm software lets you choose any color from the color wheel. It can be, if you so choose, but I currently have it to where the logo is purple on the front, the two LED bars on the sides are turquoise and the logo on the backplate is orange. The color scheme of the LED's is RGB, so it's not yellow like what you see in the product images.
It runs Battlefield 1 at 2560x1440 all options maxed at a consistent 100FPS+ in DX12. Only when benchmarking have I seen it go higher. Most of the time gaming, even when overclocked, it never goes beyond 70c. Noise is never an issue for me, so I can't comment on the fan noise, but it seems quieter than my older 980ti Zotac Amp! Extreme. After unlocking the voltage slider, I was getting up to 2088MHz on core, and a whopping 12.2GHz on the memory. Pros: Out of the box, using the Zotac Firestorm software that was included with this product, the card was able to boost to 2032MHz on the core, just by raising the power target.
